MacArthur Highlanders Set to Take on Ardmore Tigers in Final Week of Regular Season

Leading up to the final week of the regular season is always a mixed bag of emotions. On one hand, the excitement of playoffs are around the corner, while on the other hand the football season is coming to an end.

For the MacArthur Highlanders, all the hard work that the team has been putting in starting back in July has brought them to this point of the season. What each team works so hard for will now have a chance to be showcased in week 10.

The final week of the regular season is full of all the end-of-the-year drama that one could imagine: a showdown between the Highlanders and the Ardmore Tigers in Ardmore this Friday night, a possible 3-way tie for first place to decide first, second and third place, and the District championship hanging in the balance.

The way 3 way tie would be between, Del City, the only Mac district loss, undefeated Ardmore and MacArthur.

With all the scoreboard checking and calculating this past Friday, the Highlanders control their own destiny. Simply put, beat Ardmore by 5 points and they're district 5-A 1 champions and will be hosting the first two playoff games at home.

There is; however, more at stake than just the district championship. If the Highlanders win by less than 5, they will be second in the district, and if they happen to lose on Friday the Highlanders would fall to 3rd place.
