
More Snow Is Headed for Oklahoma Next Week
Most of Oklahoma received a bout of snow, freezing rain and ice Tuesday evening and into Wednesday morning. And it looks like more snow is in the extended forecast for Oklahoma.
The next chance for snow in Oklahoma will be Saturday, Feb. 15. This snow is expected to only take place in northern Oklahoma. This winter precipitation is expected to start out as rain and then transition into snow. Accumulations are expected to remain under one inch.
Snow chances return Tuesday, Feb. 18 and Wednesday, Feb. 19.
It's still to far for specifics, but the National Weather Service in Norman has snow on its seven day forecast. As of Wednesday, Feb. 12, Oklahoma has a 60 percent chance for snow on Tuesday, Feb. 18 and a 20 percent chance on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
NOAA expects below average temperatures and above average precipitation for Oklahoma next week.
The NOAA six to 10 day extended forecast is also keeping Oklahoma in winter. Oklahoma is predicted to have below average temperatures Feb. 18-22.
And all of Oklahoma is likely to see above average precipitation Feb. 18-22.
Oklahoma will see freezing temperatures and slight warm up before next snow.
Oklahoma will have a rollercoaster of temperatures before the next chances for snow. Temperatures in Oklahoma will remain cold Wednesday and Thursday. Oklahoma will see dangerous wind chills Wednesday evening that could fall below zero.
Temperatures will jump into the 50s on Friday and Saturday before dipping beck into the 30s by Sunday.
