Multiple Chances for Snow in Oklahoma Next Week
Earlier this week we mentioned how Oklahoma may see some rain and snow, but so far we've only received some rain, which happened early Wednesday (Jan. 18) morning. So now it's looking like the potential for snow in Oklahoma has moved to next week.
According to the National Weather Service in Norman, there are now multiple chances for snow next week.
It looks like there may be two systems that will move into Oklahoma that could produce snow. The snow potential for this Saturday actually can't be ruled out completely as our fellow Oklahomans in the panhandle still have a chance to see some flurries. But the chances for snow in Southwest Oklahoma has moved to Monday and Tuesday of next week (Jan. 23 and 24).
Oklahoma has a chance of less than one inch of snow next week.
Per usual, Oklahomans in the northern parts of the state have a higher chance of seeing snow, but the National Weather Service in Oklahoma isn't ruling out Southwest Oklahoma completely for next week. Here are the key points the National Weather Service in Norman have issued today (Jan.20) for this bout of wintery weather:
- Two systems will cross the region in the next five days, one on Saturday and one on Monday-Tuesday.
- Cold air will be lacking, with temperatures only barely cold enough for snow.
- Low chance for accumulating snow across Northwest Oklahoma on Saturday.
- A broader portion of the area could see snow on Monday into Tuesday, but uncertainty is much higher on both storm track amounts.
Uncertainty Abounds!
