New Movie Filmed in Oklahoma Starting Matt Damon in Theaters This Friday

There's a new movie coming out this Friday (07-30-21) staring Matt Damon called Stillwater that was filmed right here in Oklahoma. The new film will hit the silver screen and will hopefully be available for pay-per-view as well. Stillwater was directed by Tom McCarthy and was shot in several different locations around Oklahoma. The Sooner State has become a very popular place for filmmakers and we've seen more and more movies being filmed here over the past couple of years.

So what's Stillwater about? It's the story of a father who is an Oklahoma oil filed roughneck from Stillwater that travels to France to the city of Marseille to help his estranged daughter who has been jailed facing a murder charge. It's being billed as a action thriller and of course with Matt Damon being involved you know there's going to be plenty of action. It'll be fun to watch the movie and pick out all the different locations that were filmed in Oklahoma. Another movie that was filmed in Oklahoma, Minari, won a Golden Globe award for Best Picture- Foreign Language. It was written and directed by Lee Issac Chung and stars Steven Yeun, probably best know for his role as Glenn on The Walking Dead, Han Ye-ri, Alan Kim, Noel Kate Cho, Youn Yuh-jung and Will Patton.

Looking forward to seeing Stillwater this Friday. There's another movie that will be out soon called Killers of the Flower Moon that stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro. It was also filmed in Oklahoma and was directed by Martin Scorsese. The Sooner State is quickly becoming the go to place for Hollywood filmmakers which is awesome to see.
