
Oklahoma’s Last Frost Expected In Mid-April
It's been a cold start to 2025 in Oklahoma, and most of the state has experienced a few rounds of snow and ice. Oklahomans are eager for spring to arrive, but it looks like they will want to wait till the last frost in mid-April to adorn their yard with tulips and daisies.
Oklahomans won't have to wait long for spring-like weather. Oklahoma is expected to warm up to end February and begin March. Meteorological spring will begin on March 1, and Oklahomans will be itching to get in their gardens with temperatures in the 70s. But they may want to hold off as they will still have another month and a half or so before Oklahoma will see its last frost.
The Old Farmer's Almanac allows people to track the estimated last frost dates for various areas of each state as not all parts of receive their first or last frost at the same time. Below are few areas of Oklahoma and the estimated date of the last frost, according to The Old Farmer's Almanac.

- Tulsa, Oklahoma - April 5
- Lawton, Oklahoma - April 7
- Durant, Oklahoma - April 7

As for Oklahoma's weather this spring, The Old Farmer's Almanac is expecting Oklahoma to have a warm and dry spring. The Old Farmer's Almanac expects April in Oklahoma will begin with below normal temperatures but May will be warmer than most, at least three degrees above average. The above average heat is expected to linger through summer in Oklahoma, whereas rainfall will be slightly below average to near normal.
