All around Oklahoma fall leaves are starting to show their colors! Shades of yellow, orange and red have started peeking from the trees. And now that we're reaching the end of October, peak fall colors will soon come out in full force, and residents only have a small window to see the most vibrant fall foliage in some of the state's most iconic fall foliage hot spots.

One of the best places to see fall colors is along the Talimena National Scenic Byway. Located in southeast Oklahoma, the Talimena National Scenic Byway offers a 54-mile route of the most beautiful fall foliage Oklahoma has to offer.

But it's all in the timing.

To see the fall foliage at its peak on the Talimena National Scenic Byway is something fall enthusiasts track religiously. And locals near the Talimena National Scenic Byway are urging people to make the trek the first week of November.

Peak fall foliage on the Talimena National Scenic Byway could be from November 4-16.

In September, the Facebook page Talihina, Oklahoma Zone gave its followers an estimated timeline for when peak fall foliage would be along the Talimena Scenic Byway. The page predicted that peak fall foliage in the area would be from November 4-16.

And with the way the weather is going and how the leaves are turning, their prediction may be spot on! According to explorefall.com, the Talimena Scenic Byway is currently experiencing moderate color, as of Tuesday, October 28. High color is expected by November 4, and peak color could explode by November 9.
