Oklahomans will want to enjoy these below average warm summer days while they can. The heat is about to crank back up in the Sooner State. Temperatures are expected to return to 100 degrees by next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Norman, temperatures in Oklahoma will begin to rise as a ridge of high pressure builds over the Southern Plains. By Monday afternoon, the heat indices are expected to be between 105 to 110 degrees as daytime highs will be close or over 100.

Rain chances will decrease in Oklahoma as July ends.

Oklahoma has been lucky this July to have as much rain as we did. Unfortunately, rain chances will begin to decrease as July ends and we get into August.

According to the NOAA's eight to 14 day precipitation outlook for August 1-7, most of Oklahoma will be at below average probability for precipitation.

Oklahoma may return to practicing heat safety.

Oklahomans know all too well that the end of summer is usually the hottest time of the year. At least it always feel that way. The National Weather Service in Norman is expecting Oklahoma to return to practicing heat safety next week.

The NOAA's eight to 14 day outlook for August 1-7 is also predicting Oklahoma to have above average temperatures across the state.
