Tickets Now On Sale for ‘The Outsiders’ Musical In Tulsa

Last year, "The Outsiders" musical took home the Tony Award for Best New Musical, and this fall, the musical will kickoff its North America tour in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where the story takes place. Oklahoma residents will have one weekend to see "The Outsiders" musical in Tulsa, and tickets are now on sale.

"The Outsiders" musical will take the stage at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center for eight performances from Oct. 7-11. Below is the full performance schedule:

• 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7
• 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8
• 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9
• 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10
• 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11
• 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12

Tickets are available from $60 to $150, depending on section and before fees. Tickets can be purchased online from Celebrity Attractions. Group rates and season tickets are also available.

The musical is based on the best-selling novel by Tulsa native S.E. Hinton.

"The Outsiders" musical is based on the novel of the same name by Tulsa author S.E. Hinton. Set in Tulsa in 1967, "The Outsiders" tells the story of two rivals gangs who are divided by socioeconomic status. The musical tells the same story of Ponyboy Curtis, his best friend Johnny Cade and their Greaser family who battle their well-to-do rivals, the Socs, as they navigate the complexities of growing up in a world that doesn't accept them while still believing there's "lots of good in the world."

Hinton began writing "The Outsiders" when she was 15 and living in Tulsa. She wrote most of the book when she was 16 and it was published in 1967 when she was 18. The book was first adapted into a film in 1983 and was directed by Francis Ford Coppola. "The Outsiders" musical was first performed in San Diego in 2023 and moved to Broadway in 2024. The musical was nominated for 12 Tony Awards and won four, including Best New Musical.
