The average eight to 10-year old spends nearly eight hours a day plugged into TV's, computers and cellphones, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.

This group says that's way too much.  They suggest that limiting that time will make for better performance in school, and better rounded children. On the flip side of that coin, this group says that unrestricted media can lead to cyber bullying, and obesity. They also recommend that parents set the example and schedule daily 'media time outs'.
