Faith Hill and Kellie Pickler’s ‘Pickler & Ben’ Show Has Been Canceled

The Faith Hill-produced television show Pickler & Ben — starring hosts Kellie Pickler and Ben Aaron — has been canceled.

"We were really disappointed to have to announce that we were going to be sunsetting Pickler & Ben after season two," Scripps' Brian Lawlor, president of local media, said on a call about the company's fourth-quarter results. "We loved the show. Audiences loved the show," the Tennesseean reports.

New episodes of the second season are set to air through September.

Longterm profitability in the show's 176 limited markets is cited as the reason for cancelation. Filmed in Nashville in front of a live studio audience, Pickler & Ben featured guest appearances by various celebrities and focused on the positive side of life, with segments highlighting local and national community do-gooders. In addition, the show offered home design, cooking and specialty DIY tips in its segments.

Pickler & Ben was so popular in its run that it received two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Informative Talk Show Hosts and Outstanding Musical Performance in a Daytime Program.

"We feel very blessed and we've been put in a place where we get to serve those that serve and give back. So we're hoping the show continues to do well and that people give us a chance and that they feel safe with us and we make them laugh and make them smile," Pickler previously told Taste of Country. "We just feel blessed to be in everyone's homes in the morning or afternoon and just be a bright part of their day."

In addition to Hill, producers include former Oprah Winfrey Show producer Lisa Erspamer and Jason Owen, CEO of Sandbox Entertainment.
