
Oklahoma Braces For Spring Storms As Rain Returns This Weekend
The weeds are sprouting and the days are warmer in Oklahoma, which means spring isn't too far behind. And with spring comes more rain and severe storms, which are both in the forecast for Oklahoma starting this weekend.
Sunday, March 1 is the beginning of spring for meteorologists and storm season for Oklahoma. Rain returns to Oklahoma this weekend just in time for the kickoff of storm season. And severe weather is already in the forecast for the first week of March.
Rain expected to return to Oklahoma starting Saturday evening.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to return to Oklahoma starting Saturday evening. Chances are also expected to continue into Sunday and Monday. Some may become strong to severe with a primary risk of quarter-size hail.
According to the National Weather Service in Norman, not all areas will see measurable/beneficial rain this weekend.

Severe storm risk returns to Oklahoma on Wednesday, March 4.
Local meteorologists are already encouraging Oklahomans to keep an eye out for severe storms on Wednesday, March 4. A slight severe risk for severe thunderstorms is expected for portions of southern Oklahoma on Wednesday. According to the National Weather Service in Norman, these storms could pose risks of large hail and damaging winds.
More severe storms are expected in Oklahoma throughout the first week and weekend of March.
It's time for Oklahoma residents to lock back in to their severe weather awareness. More rounds of thunderstorms are expected after Wednesday, March 7 and into the first weekend of March.
According to the National Weather Service in Norman, any rounds of storms that crop up will have to be watched for severe potential and heavy rainfall. Oklahoma residents are encouraged to watch the forecast and remain weather aware throughout next week and into next weekend.
