Taco Bell's Steal A Base, Steal A Taco Is Back

Taco Bell has never been afraid to give away free food. Whether it's a free regular nacho to make up for the increasingly normal longer than usual wait times in the drive-thru, or their modern tradition of gifting free tacos for the first stolen base in the 2021 Major League Baseball World Series.

Even though this wildly successful and longest-running World Series promotion started humbly as kind of a joke in 2007, 2021 marks the tenth year Taco Bell has put their tacos on the line. Sure, the previous eight times America received a free taco The Bell took a hefty hit in the profit margin for a day, but it all pays off in the end. After all, they wouldn't run a program for free food if it didn't also boost sales.

Think about the brilliance for a moment. If everyone in America showed up for their free taco knowing nobody eats just one taco, and each person also added a few additional items, it makes for one epic sales day at Taco Bell's nationwide.

It's hard to say just yet who will be taking part in this years Fall Classic World Series, but if I were a betting man, I'd assume it will be Houston and Atlanta. All the same, it would be pretty epic to see Houston and LA rehash the series the Astros ended up winning while cheating through the use of a pitching sign-stealing scandal.

Whoever plays, America is the true winner if a base is managed to be stolen. On top of all the hubbub, to mark the 10th Anniversary of the promotion, the stolen base is already reserved to be shipped off to Cooperstown to the MLB Hall of Fame to be put on display. It's a little weird being that it's a taco advertisement promotion, but if they feel it's worthy of display to future visitors, by all means, they're welcome to do it.
