
Storm Chances Increase For Oklahoma This Weekend
As "Twisters" blows into theaters, actual storm chances will increase for Oklahoma this weekend! Strong storms are expected to enter the Sooner State on Saturday, July 20.
Although "Twisters" is set during the spring time in Oklahoma, which is the prime season for tornadoes in the state, Oklahoma gets strong to severe thunderstorms throughout the year. As for the storms on Saturday, these storms are expected to be strong, not severe, bringing in gusty winds and a lot of rain.
Storms to start in northwestern and western Oklahoma on Saturday.
Storms will begin early Saturday morning in northwestern and western Oklahoma bringing in the gusty winds and rain.
Storms will then begin to move into southwestern and central Oklahoma during the day Saturday.
Once we get into the evening hours of Saturday, most of Oklahoma will be experiencing some type of storm. Areas with the highest chances for rain will include central and northern Oklahoma.
Luckily, the only chances for severe weather and tornadoes will remain in movie theaters as Okies head out to see "Twisters."
Near to below average temperatures expected for Oklahoma this weekend and into next week.
