Oklahoma legislators are talking about gun control after the recent mass shootings that took place in Taft and Tulsa, OK. as well as across the Nation. Some lawmakers suggest that the state has too few laws and regulations regarding firearms and the safety of the general public.

During a recent interview on Fox News, this past Sunday Governor Kevin Stitt warned Oklahoma tribes about creating abortion safe havens on tribal lands. It's been rumored that Native American tribes are considering circumventing recent Oklahoma abortion laws and the possible overturning of ' Roe v Wade' by the Supreme Court by opening and operating abortion clinics on tribal lands.

Oklahoma will soon be making some changes to state hunting and fishing licenses. A new bill has overwhelming support from state legislators, so what does this bill do and how will it affect hunting/fishing licenses?

Oklahoma lawmakers are looking to pass legislation that would make the nocturnal/night hunting of coyotes legal without a permit within the state. House Bill (HB-4281) would change the current Oklahoma laws regarding hunting coyotes at night without special permitting and permission from state game wardens.

More firearm legislation is headed to the Oklahoma House for a vote. House Bill (HB-3069) would grant municipalities the authority to allow city employees to carry concealed firearms while at work or on duty. The bill would amend various prohibited locations and properties that are currently restricted such as properties, buildings, structures, and office space that is owned by the city which does business with the public.

Oklahoma law makers are working to end the state income tax for all citizens by introducing new legislation that would eventually see the current income tax structure go away completely. This is great news for all Oklahomans and will hopefully be approved and passed sometime soon.

Oklahoma legislators are wanting to entice firearm and ammunition manufacturers to move to the Sooner State. The invitation would be for new and existing gun and ammo businesses that are considering relocating.

You've probably heard all the rumors and stories online and elsewhere, well it's true. A petition has been filed by an Oklahoma cannabis advocacy group named ORCA (Oklahoman's for Responsible Cannabis Action) to legalize recreational marijuana for adults 21 and over.

I just read an interesting article about Oklahoma Senator Michael Bergstrom filling a new senate bill (SB 1098) that would allow Oklahoma residents to purchase and own firearm silencers without all the federal regulations. If the silencer was made in Oklahoma and remained in the state it would be exempt from federal registration and regulations.

One of the most controversial parts of the new law is immunity for motor vehicle operators that may unintentionally hit protestors blocking public roads and highways.

Earlier this Summer in May Oklahoma Legislators passed House Bill (HB 1775) which bans the teaching or practice of "Critical Race Theory" in Oklahoma schools. The bill also has some specific elements that limit and/or prohibit universities from requiring students to take mandatory race and gender diversity counseling or training. Governor Kevin Stitt signed the new bill and it went into effect at the beginning of the month on July 1st (07-01-21). That left students, parents and educators across the state wondering just how HB-1775 will be applied and enforced starting with this upcoming school year.

The Oklahoma House of Representatives just passed House Bill 2588 which would allow teachers, administrators and other school personnel to carry firearms on school campuses. The new bill would require that they possess a valid handgun license and met other requirements and criteria set forth by the board of education in their respective districts. HB 2588 passed the house by a (79-19) vote and will now head to the Senate.
