When The Weather Channel starts talking about how the next storm system is going to affect Southwest Oklahoma in the coming days, you typically hush up to listen. That being said, the ominous forecast that was predicted yesterday has gotten a small repreeve today. It seems experts thing the bulk of the bad will stay further out West as it makes its way North Friday into Saturday. That's really good news for the Armed Forces Day Parade set for Saturday morning here in Lawton.

All the same, if you haven't done it yet, now would be a good time to make your severe weather plan. Make sure your safe spot in the home is ready to use. The last thing you want to be doing when sirens go off is cleaning out a closet. If you have a friend or family member with a shelter, you'll want to double check your plans on how that's all going to come together in a time of need. Usually, by the time you realize you need shelter, it's too late to flee. Get that plan in order.
