The Names of The 12 Aurora Shooting Victims Released [VIDEO]

Yesterday morning in Aurora, CO 12 innocent people were killed and 71 were injured. The man behind the massacre, James Holmes, was apprehended by the local authorities and is currently being questioned by the FBI. Here is what we know thus far!

Among Holmes' victims was a six-year-old boy, a sports blogger, a man celebrating his wedding anniversary, and many more.

At about 12:39 a.m. on Friday morning Holmes broke in a local Aurora movie theater showing the midnight screening of 'The Batman the Dark Knight Rises' when he opened fire at the moviegoers.

People described the massacre ‘as unreal’ and 'senseless.’ But the people who knew Holmes since he was a child told the media that he was incredibly intelligent, recluse and very well-behaved.

Holmes was pursuing a PhD in neuroscience at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, but school officials said that he was in the process of withdrawing from the program, but no additional information was released.

When apprehended by the police, Holmes had his hair colored red and told them that he was the Joker – some speculate that Holmes reenacted scenes from the 1986 comic book Batman the Dark Knight Returns.

We also now know that Holmes’ entire apartment is booby-trapped and the police will be there for days.
