Oklahomans are rejoicing at the upcoming forecast because the whole state will be getting a big break from the summer heat, plus multiple rounds of storms bringing in several inches of rain.

Meteorologists across the state are enthusiastically sharing the extended forecast for Oklahoma. Usually around this time of year, there isn't much good news regarding the weather as Oklahoma stays steamy hot till late September. A late summer cold front is rare, and two is practically unheard of.

And for a typical summer in Oklahoma, the entire state is almost always in a drought with no rain in sight. But by the end of the week, areas of Oklahoma could see over three inches of rain.

It will be super hot before Oklahoma's cool downs.

Most of Oklahoma is under a Heat Advisory on Monday, July 15 with temperatures over 100 and heat indices near 110.

The last day for high temperatures this week is expected to be Tuesday, July 16 before a weak cold front moves into northern Oklahoma that afternoon. Warmer temperatures will remain south of the front. Strong to severe storms are also expected to form along the front.

Oklahoma is headed to below average summer temperatures!

Temperatures will start to slowly decrease after Tuesday.

Temperatures will soon be on the downward trend, reaching below average by the middle of the week. Oklahoma will also see at least one or two nights with below average temperatures.
