A police department in Loretto, Tennessee took to Facebook to warn citizens to stop flushing drugs down the toilet or it could create "Meth Gators." Yes, you read that right METH GATORS! This happened last year, but for whatever reason we're seeing it all over Facebook, Twitter and Instagram lately. It's possible that it's re-surfacing because it's Summer and people are hitting the lakes and ponds, or because it's getting close to the anniversary of when it was first posted. Remain clam all's well, it's all just a big joke.

You gotta love the internet and social media, there's a lot of people who are just now seeing this and thinking it's real. Kind of like the old urban legend of alligators in the sewers, remember that one? Well back in the late 70's a rumor started that people bought baby alligators at pet stores and when they got too big they flushed them down the toilet. These alligators grew to full size and attacked anything and anyone who were unfortunate enough to be in sewer system. They even made movies about it, like the 1980 classic Alligator.

The Loretto police department admitted this was a joke a week or so after it was originally posted. It all started when they executed a search warrant at a residence. When they got inside the person living there was trying to flush drugs and paraphernalia down the toilet. It didn't work and they were arrested. As a joke the department posted the story on their official Facebook page and added that flushing drugs down the toilet could cause harm to wildlife and worse could create meth gators. Say what you want, but I think it's hilarious and it's even funnier that it's resurfacing now.

If you're a horror movie fan and haven't seen Crawl yet, you're missing out! It's available on Amazon Prime and you can watch it FOR FREE. It's a great film, especially if you like disaster/creature features. It's about a father and daughter trapped in a house in Florida during a hurricane and alligators are everywhere. It's a great movie!
