Southwest Oklahoma is full of farmers, home bakers, crafters and more, and one of the best places to shop these local vendors is at a town's local farmer's market. A few communities throughout southwest Oklahoma have either weekly or monthly farmers markets, and now it looks like Altus will soon be offering its own farmers market!

On Thursday, February 26, the Altus Parks and Recreation Department announced on its official Facebook page that the department is bringing the Altus Farmers Market to Downtown Park this spring.

Currently the Altus Parks and Recreation Department is seeking vendors for the Altus Farmers Market. The department is looking for local vendors who grow fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and other farm-fresh produce and products.

In the comments, people asked questions as to whether or not the Altus Farmers Market would also include, craft vendors, like jewelry, candles and more, and the Altus Parks and Recreation Department confirmed that these types of vendors would also be accepted.

Those interested in being a vendor are encouraged to contact the Altus Parks and Recreation Department at 580-481-2265 or message the department directly on Facebook.
