‘Catch of the Day’ – Adam Craig – “Just A Phase” [AUDIO]
Today our focus is on a newcomer to Nashville, who is getting his big break this year as part of Luke Bryan's Huntin', Fishin' and Lovin' Every Day tour. An artist whose first musical memory was riding with his mother in a car with the radio blasting, and as he sand along, belting out the notes matching the music, having his mother reply "Holy crap kid, you can sing."
Born and raised just south of Seattle, WA in the small town of Tenino, Adam Craig was always stood out in the areas musical crowd. While most musicians in the area were donning flannel, following Nirvana and Pearl Jam, young Adam followed Tim MCGraw and Travis Tritt, honing his talents in dive bars and talent shows across Washington. While traveling the state he discovered another talent -- songwriting, having a knack for writing meaningful, insightful lyrics with a touch of humor.
Craig moved to Nashville and was almost immediately in demand on Music Row as he quickly signed a publishing contract. He scored a number one hit, penning "Close Your Eyes" for Parmalee, while landing album cuts with Jason Aldean, Dustin Lynch and Love & Theft. He soon signed with Stoney Creek Records, a subsidiary of the BBR Music Group. His unique, intriguing sound that sounds like it came from 90's country radio, yet sounds incredibly modern at the same time, coupled with his passionate writing, paint a picture of life that is more than just the black and white. An artistry that is far more than many performers would have you believe it is.
Craig has just released his self-titled debut EP featuring 5-songs he co-wrote, including the lead single, which we have in our spotlight today. Adam Craig and "Just A Phase" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
