Today's featured performer is definitely a renaissance woman; a singer, song writer, multi-instumentalist, producer, radio host, author and philanthropist. She is a graduate of the Julliard school of music and has played Madison Square Garden, Lincoln Center and Carnegie hall.

Impressive is a word that is often used to describe Caroline Jones. A graduate of New York's famed Julliard School of music, Jones has toured schools & universities across the country for the past five years supporting her The Heart Is Smart initiative, a program that reaches out to students to inspire and support expression through music by providing performances and workshops, reaching over 150,000 students.

Born & raised in Connecticut, Caroline fell in love with country music at the age of 16, the first time she visited Nashville and participated in her first Writer's Round Table at the Bluebird Cafe. She quickly became enthralled with music city's history, community and performers, and was almost immediately influenced by artists like Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Vince Gill. These influences not only affected Jones as a songwriter, but also drove her to improve as a performer.

She has toured the country with her T*H*I*S initiative, while also opening for acts like James Taylor, Paul Simon, Dave Matthews and The Beach Boys. Jones currently hosts her own program, Art & Soul, for Sirius/XM satellite radio, which delves into the art of songwriting, with other Nashville songsmiths. All of this while bringing her music and her support to students and underserved communities country-wide.

Jones has been in the studio with Grammy and Academy award winning producer Ric Wake, hard at work on her debut album, due out in March. A true from-the-heart project, Caroline has co-produced and written every song on the album, while playing guitar, banjo, harmonica, keyboards and lap steel guitar on every track. Today the spotlight falls on the lead single from the album, and uptempo, tongue-in-cheek "stomper" that looks at personal empowerment. Today's Catch of the Day is Caroline Jones and "Tough Boys", new music you haven't heard, but your gonna want to hear it again.
