Today's catch of the day comes from an artist who has made his mark as a songwriter, writing for such varied artists as Guns N Roses, Tim McGraw and JB and The Moonshine Band.

Originally signed by BNA Records in 2009, Chris Janson released just one single for the label before it was restructured and he left for greener pastures. He signed with Bigger Picture Music Group in 2012, releasing his self titled EP in September on 2013, which included two singles "Better I Don't" which peaked at #40 and "Cut Me Some Slack" which topped out at #60.  Janson also appeared, playing harmonica, on Lee Brice's 2012 album Hard 2 Love.

On the strength of that EP, Janson signed with Columbia Records Nashville, releasing a second EP Take It To The Bank in 2014, which failed to chart.

He is back in the studio, working on an album slated to be released later this year. The first single from that unnamed project is in the spotlight today. Your Catch of the Day for today is Chris Janson and "Buy Me A Boat", new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
