‘Catch of the Day’ – Frankie Justin – “Summer Lover” [VIDEO]

Today we feature a young singer and songwriter from Connecticut, who has been named by several publications as the next young male country star. An artist who is

barely out of high school, but who has recently become a member of the Country Music Association and whose debut single is turning heads all over Nashville.

Born Frankie Justin Lamprey in Connecticut just 17 years ago, today's artist dropped his last name when he recently signed with SMG Records Nashville. Frankie Justin is young in age, but he has been leading his own band, Roughstock, for 3 years and has been performing professionally and writing his own music since he was 14. He was recently named Reverbnation's Male Vocalist of the Year, but his first big break came when he signed a publishing deal with Grammy Award winning producer Brien Fisher's Plum Creek Music in March of 2015, at the age of 15.

Justin released his first album on a little known indy label in 2015. On the strength of the project, entitled Tidal Wave, Justin landed opening slots for artists that included Easton Corbin and Parmalee. While the attention now lands solely on the shoulders of the 17 year old singer, he continues with Roughstock as his backing band, allowing

him the comfort of continuing to work with the group he has his entire career, while bringing in other Nashville musicians to fill in the sound. He brings the influences of his youth, George Strait, Luke Bryan and Kenny Chesney into his new three- song EP, while putting his own style into each song.
