When Kenny Chesney first hit Nashville in 1992, his lyrics and his personality opened doors that many people worked years in Music City just trying to get a chance to knock on. He was introduced to Troy Tomlinson, the head of Opryland Music Group by Clay Bradley, the head of writer relations, who told Tomlinson that Chesney was "a good signer, a good songwriter, but more than anything, you'll like him as a person."
