Today's featured artist started singing at age 3, and hasn't stopped since. She stated singing in children's choirs and would perform karaoke anywhere she could. She would also sing in church, family gatherings and pretty much anywhere within a 30-mile radius of her home that would let her.

At eight years old Lauren Alaina Suddeth was entered into the Southern Stars Pageant and won. It was the beginning of a life-long passion for performing that led her to the stage of the kids talent stage of the annual Chattanooga Riverbend Festival at age 9, where she would continue to perform every year for the next four years. Her reason for leaving the stage? Lauren won a competition that allowed her to move up to the main stage for the festival. And at age 10, she beat out more than 1,500 contestants to win the American Model and Talent contest in Orlando, FL.

Lauren Alaina began making regular trips to Nashville when she was just 12 years old. She began performing regularly at local area night spots, including the world famous Tootsie's Orchid Lounge. In 2009, she won the WinniStar talent competition at the Lake Winnepesukah, near her home of Rossville, GA. She won the competition singing her own original songs, unheard of for someone who was just 15. Soon after she audition for the tenth season of American Idol.

Alaina wowed the judges during her auditions, and became a fan favorite right away. After her audition, judge Steven Tyler declared "we found the one" and she remained or near the top of the shows weekly voting through out her run. On May 14, 2011, her home town declared it Lauren Alaina Day and a parade and big celebration in her  honor. Alaina made it to the finals, where she ran up against fellow country singer Scotty McCreery. During the finals, Alaina got the chance to sing "Before He Cheats" on the show with her idol, Carrie Underwood. She would finish as the runner-up to McCreery, and sign with Mercury Nashville and 19 Records.

Alaina released her debut single at the end of her Idol run, with "Like My Mother Does" selling over 121,000 copies in it's first week. The song peaked at #36 on the Billboard Country chart. Alaina followed the release by touring with Martina McBride and Jason Aldean, releasing her debut album Wildflowers in October of 2011, with the second single "Georgia Peaches" the following week. The song peaked at #28 on the chart. A Third single, "Eighteen Inches" would top out at #34.

Alaina's fourths single was released in 2013 as the lead for an EP which never materialized. When the single peaked out at #56, the project was put on hold until it was revamped and released in 2015 as a self-titled project. The EP also included the song "The Road Less Traveled", which would be released on July 11, 2016 as her next single. The single would take a long a winding ride to the top of the chart, hitting #1 on April 22, a total of 34 weeks. The song would also serve as the title track and lead single for he second album, which was released on January 27th.
