Today we feature a song that came out of nowhere to become one of the most added songs in country radio the past few weeks, from an artist who many are calling the next big female artist in country music.

While she is new to the attention her music is getting, this is not the first rodeo for Maren Morris. Born and raised in Dallas, TX, she began performing at the ripe old age of 11, releasing her first album, Walk On, in 2005 at the age of 15 on the independent Mozzi Bozzi label. She released two more albums on the label, 2007's Maren and 2011's Live Wire. None of the albums saw success, though she did manage to land three singles on the Texas Music Charts.

Morris and her music have never lacked for followers; she has toured and opened for acts such as Pat Green, Gary Allan and the Eli Young Band in both the U.S. and through Europe. Her sound, an intriguing mix of country, folk and pop garnered her the 2012 New Music Seminar's "Artist On The Verge".

2015 saw new horizons and new successes for Morris. She relocated to Nashville to concentrate on her recording and song writing careers, and signed with Capitol Records Nashville, releasing her first major label project, a self titled EP in November.

2016 looks even brighter as Maren is slated to open for Old Dominion and today her debut single, the first from the EP Maren Morris, is in our spotlight today. Maren Morris and "My Church" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
