City of Lawton Closures & Winter Weather Tips for Snowmageddon 2022

If the forecast holds and the Winter weather warnings and advisories from the National Weather Service are accurate, which they probably are, Lawton is going to get a lot of snow and ice over the next couple of days.

The City of Lawton will continue to update the page over the next couple of days so if you have any business, or work with the city you'll know what's open and what's not. I'm sure there will be a lot of delays and delayed openings for not only the City of Lawton but most other businesses in and around Lawton, Fort Sill.

It's not looking too good right now weather-wise. Even if we only get half of what they're predicting it's going to be bad. You'll definitely want to keep a close eye on weather and road conditions over the next few days.

Things look to get really interesting a little later this afternoon as the chance for snow increases as the day goes on. Starting at around 12:00-pm there's a 60% chance for snow then it goes to 80% and 90% later today.

If you're stuck at work more than likely it'll be snowing and the road conditions could be bad once you get off, so be very careful out there. If things do go from bad to worse you'll want to avoid getting out in it if possible.

Try to stay home and stay warm. If you do end up having to get out on the roads watch out for all the amateurs, they'll be everywhere and most of them will be sliding into your vehicle or into the ditch.
