State and Federal health experts have suggested that all persons get a third COVID-19 booster shot to better protect against not only the Coronavirus but the Delta variant as well.

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and other medical professionals are advising that you receive a third vaccination around eight months after your second shot. This is for both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. They're still working on a follow up booster shot for Johnson & Johnson.

The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has evaluated the saftey and effectiveness of a third COVID-19 vaccination or booster shot for Pfizer and Moderna. They're still working on the Johnson and Johnson vaccine and will announce findings soon. At this time those who are immune compromised are eligible for the booster shot. The general public will more than likely be able to get their third shot sometime mid-September.

Today at the Comanche County Health Department located at 1010 S.W. Sheridan Road they'll be hosting a vaccination clinic. You can walk in or make an appointment for a later date/time to get your first, second or even third COVID-19 vaccinations.

Keep in mind that the third shot or booster shot is only available for moderately to severely immune compromised people. The clinic will be open today from 9:00am until 12:00pm and again from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. If you have questions or would like to make an appointment call (580)-248-5890. You can also visit their official Facebook page for details and upcoming vaccination clinic dates and locations.
