Do You Ever Get Tired Of Smelling Texas Roadhouse?
Every time I drive by Texas Roadhouse and smell the wafting smells of steak, I can't help but wonder if the people that live around the area ever get tired of smelling it? While most really enjoy it as an irregular treat, would you eventually grow to dislike or even hate that steaky smell living around the restaurant?
Crosby Park Apartments and the neighborhood that shares the name resides just North of our Texas Roadhouse... As the winds in Southwest Oklahoma are dominated from the South most of the year, one has to wonder.
The only reason I ask is this... When I was sixteen, one of my first jobs was at the brand new Carl's Jr in my little Mayberry hometown. Like any 'new' restaurant in any town, people flocked to it. The food was new and delicious. If you don't remember the sourdough bacon cheeseburger they used to offer, it was amazing. I figured working there was going to be awesome.
I was wrong.
It wasn't the monotonous work, rude belittling Karen customers, or the cleaning of atom bomb bathrooms that drove me crazy though. After working there, even just part time, I grew to really not like the smell of it. I got to the point I couldn't even stomach the idea of eating my beloved sourdough bacon cheese. It's a sentiment that lingers now some twenty years later.
So that's the question... Is too much of a good thing not a good thing? Would you get tired of smelling that amazing smell everyday?
