With snow still on the ground, most Oklahoma residents are dreaming of warmer days. Luckily, those warmer days are not far behind! Longer days are on the horizon, so that means spring will be here soon.

As we end January, finally, Oklahoma residents are only getting a little over 10 hours of daylight. But by the end of February, Oklahoma residents are expected to get an extra hour of daylight! After that, the days will just longer and longer, and warmer and warmer.

Oklahoma will see sunsets around 6:30 p.m. at the start of February.

We still have a ways to go before the first day of spring on March 20, but Oklahoma residents can start to celebrate longer days. KFOR Chief Meteorologist Mike Morgan posted to his official Facebook page this week that longer days aren't far behind.

The end of January is seeing sunsets around 6 p.m. for a little over 10 hours of daylight. But by February 28, Oklahoma residents will see its first sunset after 6 p.m. since last fall. This will add over an hour to the state's daylight hours!

By the first day of spring on March 20, Oklahoma will have sunsets after 7 p.m. and will give the state over 12 hours of daylight.

Oklahoma will still practice Daylight Savings Time this spring.

There have been several attempts to get Oklahoma out of practicing Daylight Savings Time, but this year, the state will still be moving their clocks. Oklahoma residents are set to "spring forward" on Sunday, March 8, and move their clocks up an hour.
