Although summer isn't ending anytime soon, the first day of September will at least be out of 100s. The high for Sept. 1 is to be about 92 degrees. To be honest, Oklahomans will all agree that low 90s feels much better than anything over 100. And the heat index has also been EXTREME this summer. Over the weekend, some areas of Oklahoma basically melted from the heat with the heat index hitting 125 degrees.
Some areas of Oklahoma have seen hotter than normal temperatures in June, July and August this year! So if you've been thinking that this has been the hottest summer ever, you wouldn't be wrong.
As move into September, we'll continue to see warm temperatures.
During September, Oklahoma won't be the hottest place in the country, but we will be warm. According to AccuWeather, it looks like Oklahoma will remain in the 90s until Sept. 15. As we head towards the first day of fall on Sept. 23, we'll start getting into the low 80s. Finally!
Halloween 2023 is expected to be chilly!
As we move into October, we'll finally start seeing real cool fall weather. And we're expected to have a cold Halloween! The first frost of the year is expected Oct. 31, so you might want to plan on some warm costumes this year.
So hang on, Oklahoma! Fall and its cool temps are slowly on their way.
