Inclement Weather Closures In Southwest Oklahoma

Snow is expected the continue falling across Oklahoma throughout the day Thursday, Jan. 9 and into the morning of Friday, Jan. 10. Larger snow accumulations are occurring across the state and more local schools and businesses are issuing closures.

At 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, the National Weather Service in Norman extended its Winter Storm Warning, which now encompasses not only southeast and eastern Oklahoma, but also parts of central and western Oklahoma. The rest of the state continues to remain under a Winter Weather Advisory.

As snow continues to fall and accumulate, roads are expected to become hazardous. Residents are encouraged to not travel if necessary and to continue monitoring the latest forecasts.
