It's back! It was just announced that "Open Streets" will return this Fall to downtown Lawton, Fort Sill. Now that we're finally starting to get on the other side of the pandemic we can finally get back to all our favorite community events and get togethers. It's about time!

As rough as the pandemic was on adults, it was far worse on the kids. All of last year they weren't able to be with friends, even family at times. They couldn't go to school, hang out or really get out and do much of anything. Well, that's all about to change!

Open Streets will officially return this Fall on Saturday, October 2nd (10-02-21) from 10:00am until 2:00pm in downtown Lawton. It will be set up in front of the Central Mall on C Avenue. The street will be open for the public only, no vehicles and the kids will take it over for the afternoon.

They'll have all kinds of games, activities, vendors and food trucks set up for a full day of family fun. Plus most, if not all of the downtown businesses on C Avenue run sales and special offers during Open Streets so you'll have some shopping opportunities as well. There's something for everyone at Open Streets.

Here's the best part, IT'S FREE! That's right it's free to attend and most of the games and activities are free too. There's even going to be a kickball tournament this time! Open Streets is all about getting out and getting active, enjoying some outside time and moving. It's all about promoting healthy and active lifestyles, especially for the kids.
