The first weekend of summer is almost here! Memorial Day weekend is when Oklahomans get out their swimsuits and fire up the grill. The City of Lawton will open its aquatic facilities on Monday, May 25, and for opening day, the city will offer free admission to the new Aquatic Center.

Last year, Lawton's Aquatic Center opened late in the summer and remained open through September. Memorial Day will be the official opening day for the center's first full summer season. From 1-8 p.m. Monday, May 25, Lawton residents will able to enjoy the Aquatic Center for free.

Liberty National Bank is the premiere sponsor of the Aquatic Center's opening day.

Earlier this month, the City of Lawton announced that Liberty National Bank is the premiere sponsor of the Aquatic Center's opening day. In a post to Facebook, the City of Lawton stated that the sponsorship will help with free admission to the Aquatic Center on Monday, May 25.

After Memorial Day, the Aquatic Center will have daily admission fees. Residents also have the opportunity to purchase season passes. Last month, the Lawton City Council approved price increases for the Aquatic Center.

Daily Pass

  • $2 - Children 2 and younger
  • $6 - Minors (Ages 3-17)
  • $8 - Adults (18-54)
  • $6 - Seniors (55 and older)

Season Pass

  • $200 - Family of Four
  • $150 - Military Family of Four
  • $100 - Seniors 55 and Older
  • $125 - Individual Military Veteran
  • $125 - Individual Age 18-54
  • $100 - Youth 18 and Younger

The City of Lawton will host the first Memorial Day Lap Swim on Monday, May 25.

To mark Memorial Day, the City of Lawton will host the first Memorial Day Lap Swim at the Aquatic Center. The lap swim will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, May 25. The lap swim is intended to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

The Memorial Day Lap Swim will take place in the lap pool at the Aquatic Center before the facility opens for free admission at 1 p.m. Those who wish to participate in the Memorial Day Lap Swim can sign up online.

Lawton's splash pads and wading pools will also open on Memorial Day.

Along with the Aquatic Center, the City of Lawton's other aquatic facilities, including splash pads and wading pools, will also open on Memorial Day. Lawton's splash pads and wading pools are free and open to the public.

Lawton's aquatic facilities will remain open throughout the summer with varying schedules. The aquatic facilities typically close at the end of August or early September. See the full schedule below.

  • Splash Pads
    • Elmer Thomas Park and KidZone (Greer Park) - 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Daily
    • Clement Washington Sr. - 1-5 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Wading Pools
    • All wading pools (35th Division Park, Harmon Park, and Mocine Park) will be open from 1-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • Aquatic Center
    • Monday - Closed for maintenance.
    • 1-8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday
    • 1-5 p.m. Sunday
