5. Acme Brick Park - Clinton, Oklahoma

You'll want to tell your children that Acme Brick Park in Clinton, Oklahoma, was designed by kids, because it's a playground of kids' creams! It features a castle made of wooden towers with opportunities for climbing, swinging and sliding. The park also has batting cages, fishing ponds and a nature trail. And there's pavilion with racquetball, ping pond tables and billiards. There's even a train that goes around the whole park and through a dark tunnel!

4. Wintersmith Park - Ada, Oklahoma

If you're looking for a park with a piece of history, then you'll want to visit Wintersmith Park in Ada, Oklahoma. Constructed in 1930, Wintersmith Park features a lodge, stone bridges, trails and public amphitheater. It also includes a public swimming pool, basketball courts, nature trail, playground, amusement park and more!

3. Scissortail Park - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

One of the newest parks in Oklahoma City, is Scissortail Park! It offers large green space right in the middle of downtown Oklahoma City. There's also a Children's Play Pavilion and Playground with climbers, net lens and a large fort with a tower, slides and rope climbers. You can even check out the roller skating rink and pedal boat renters on the lake.

2. Kidspace Park - Shawnee, Oklahoma

Kidspace Park opened in Shawnee, Oklahoma, in 2023 and is considered the largest playground in Oklahoma! It sits on 7.6 acres and offers several playgrounds and park features for all ages, plus several shaded areas. The park also includes basketball, pickle ball courts, cornhole, giant checkers, ping pong and more!

1. The Gathering Place - Tulsa, Oklahoma

The Gathering Place is located at Tulsa's Riverfront Park and offers "exciting attractions and world-class programs." The Gathering Place features "70 acres of scenic landscaping and family-friendly activities and uncover unique playgrounds with tunnels, pirate ships, towers, slides, suspended bridges and so much more." You can also check out the Gathering Place's nature trails, skate park and BMX trails.

Unique Things to Do in Oklahoma City

There is no shortage of things to do in OKC. While there are a handful of things everyone knows about--OKC Zoo, Myriad Gardens, Bricktown, etc-- there are even more lesser-known places to experience one-of-a-kind Oklahomaness.
