Oklahoma will creep into above average temperatures by Friday, Jan. 17 before the state's next arctic blast arrives this weekend. Areas of Oklahoma could reach daytime highs in the upper 60s by Friday afternoon and then back down to the mid-40s by Saturday and below freezing by Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Norman, Oklahoma will see its coldest temperatures on Sunday, Jan. 19 and Monday, Jan. 20 with most of the state remaining below freezing. Breezy north winds are expected to create single-digit to below zero feels-like temperatures and wind chills.

Oklahoma has a chance for wintry precipitation this weekend.

The National Weather Service in Norman is expecting a possible light wintry precipitation chance Saturday night into Sunday for most of Oklahoma, particularly northern and western Oklahoma.

KFOR Chief Meteorologist Mike Morgan expects Oklahoma City to see blowing snow Saturday evening into Sunday, which is much different than the snow Oklahoma received last week.

Oklahoma could see blizzard conditions into next week.

But after that arctic air comes through, Oklahoma could be looking at more snow. The NOAA, meteorologists and some social media weather outlets are expecting Oklahoma to see blizzard conditions sometime next week. The NOAA has included almost all of Oklahoma as an area of the nation that could be at risk for heavy snow Jan. 17-23.

Snow is incredibly impossible to predict, even 24 hours before the snow arrives, so amounts, locations and timing of snow is Oklahoma is expected to change up until the flurries begin falling from the sky. Therefore Oklahomans will want to remain weather aware!
