I don't quite remember when "fair food" came to be such an exciting thing, but I'd wager that Guy Fiery and his "Flavortown" shows had something to do with it.

Growing up we always went for the classics... Corn dogs, funnel cakes, and lemon ices. It wasn't until around 2010 that I remember the wild creations started making headlines. If fact, chocolate-covered bacon was the first odd fair food I remember.

Skip ahead a decade plus some, weird foods have become the #1 reason people show up to fairs these days, and the Oklahoma State Fair won't disappoint in 2023.

Here's a quick list. Some foods have pics, others are still food-truck-classified.

Pickle Pie

If you had a delicious pie in one hand, a delicious sour pickle in the other, and you put your hands together, you'd have the latest creation from Cutie Pies.

Oklahoma's Highest-Rated Barbeque Joints, In No Particular Order...

I doubt there's a single topic debated more passionately in Oklahoma than who makes the best BBQ. While they all smoke meat, there are some huge differences in how that process is done.
