The summer heat has officially arrived in Oklahoma. Lawton reached 100 degrees on Sunday, July 20, for the first time this year, and more heat is expected the rest of the week as a Heat Advisory is in place for most of the state on Monday and more hot and humid conditions are expected.

Lawton had a 46 percent chance of reaching 100 degrees on Sunday and the city hit triple digits by 3 p.m. For the rest of the week, Lawton and most of Oklahoma could see daytime highs in the upper 90s and low 100s.

Hot and humid conditions are expected for the rest of the week with low chances for rain and storms mid week for parts of northern Oklahoma. And there may be a short break from the excessive heat on Tuesday and Wednesday, but it's still July in Oklahoma, so it will still be hot, just somewhat less so.
