A mild July has now come and passed for Oklahoma. Some parts of the state could see 100 degrees over the weekend. And a heat dome is expected to position itself over Oklahoma by the end of next week and could hang around through August.

Even though Oklahoma has had a mild summer so far, there have still been a few days where the heat index has made it feel hotter. But now Oklahoma is entering its classic summer of days at 100 or over and a heat index that makes it feel even hotter.

Hot and humid conditions are expected to continue this weekend and into next week. Some areas could hit 100 degrees this weekend, but other parts of Oklahoma have more of a chance to hit triple digits sometime next week.

Across Oklahoma, temperatures will be in the upper 90s but Lawton is expected to see a full week of 100 degree days. And rain chances are also expected to dwindle as the heat dome approaches.
