
Oklahoma’s Relatively Cool July May Soon Come To An End
Oklahomans should enjoy the somewhat cooler July weather before it's gone. Although its still been warm, the daytime highs in Oklahoma this July have only been topping out in the low 90s. There have been a few days with high heat indexes, but those 100-degree days, plus the high humidity, are on the horizon for Oklahoma.
According to the National Weather Service in Norman, this weekend, Lawton could be the first city in Oklahoma to reach 100 degrees for the year. On Saturday, Lawton has a 35 percent chance of reaching 100 degrees and 46 percent chance on Sunday.

Highs for Lawton this weekend currently set for upper 90s.
It's a gamble whether or not Lawton will hit 100 degrees for a daytime high this weekend. As of Monday, July 14, the National Weather Service in Norman has Lawton's daytime highs in the upper 90s for its weekly forecast. The weather services is expecting Lawton to top out at 98 degrees on Saturday and 99 on Sunday. So whether Lawton reaches 100 degrees or not, it's still going to be a hot weekend.
Above average temperatures expected across Oklahoma towards the end of July.
Oklahoma has enjoyed below average temperatures the first half of July, but it looks like the above average temperatures will make their debut in the state the later this month. According to the NOAA's six to 10 day extended forecast, Oklahoma has a 60 to 70 percent chance of seeing above average temperatures from July 20-24.
So if they haven't already, Oklahoma residents will want to start practicing energy saving methods to keep cool!
