One of the best parts about Thanksgiving is getting to spend time with the family! And often times, families do special activities over Thanksgiving weekend. Luckily, Oklahoma's weather might allow for some outdoor Thanksgiving weekend activities.

Thanksgiving Day in Oklahoma is expected to be seasonable and sunny! Rain may return to the state Thanksgiving weekend before turning towards winter to start off December.

Hopefully the rain will subside for holiday light viewing over Thanksgiving weekend! Which, in my opinion, is one of the bests Thanksgiving weekend activities in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma has some of the best holiday light displays! You can take your family to one of the oldest light displays in the state at the Chickasha Festival of Light. The Oklahoma City Zoo is currently hosting its annual Safari Lights. Lawton's Holiday In the Park is now officially open. And there's a new holiday light maze in Oklahoma City.

Black Friday and Shop Small Saturday

If you're looking to get a start on Christmas shopping, then Thanksgiving weekend is the best time to do it! Stores all throughout Oklahoma will have deals going on for Black Friday. Plus, thousands of local shops will have specials going during Shop Small Saturday.

Watch OU and OSU Football

I just went to the recent OU football game against Missouri, and it was amazing! Watching football is definitely a fun Thanksgiving activity. And it looks like Oklahoma residents can root for the Sooners and the Cowboys on Thanksgiving weekend!

LSU will be in Norman Saturday to face off against OU. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 29. And OSU will host Iowa State in Stillwater. Kickoff is at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 29.

Hopefully the rain will fend off for the games in Oklahoma, especially if you have tickets! But the family could enjoy a Saturday full of Oklahoma football at home. Or if you're in Norman or Stillwater, it's a fun time to get out and about with the crew!
