
Could This Be The Year For A White Christmas In Oklahoma?
Winter weather has already impacted Oklahoma this December. So the question on everyone's mind is, "could Oklahoma have a white Christmas this year?"
Oklahoma hasn't had a white Christmas since 2009, so we're definitely due for one! In 2009, areas of Oklahoma saw anywhere from one inch to 14 inches of snow between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. That year was definitely a doozy of a white Christmas for Oklahoma.
Oklahoma doesn't typically have a white Christmas.
A white Christmas is uncommon in Oklahoma. Honestly, an unusually warm Christmas is more common than snow. The National Weather Service in Norman has only recorded 17 white Christmases for Oklahoma City since 1913, with the last one being in 2009.
So if Oklahoma has a white Christmas in 2025, it will either be a big snow storm or a dusting. With winter weather in Oklahoma, there's hardly ever an in-between snow situation. We can only hope it doesn't turn into an ice storm.

Will Oklahoma have a white Christmas in 2025?
Oklahoma has had an unusually wet year. So far we have seen historic flooding across the state. And the winter weather outlook for 2025-2026 has alluded to a rough winter ahead for Oklahoma.
The state has already had winter precipitation in the forecast twice now for Oklahoma. So people in Oklahoma are definitely wondering if we'll have a white Christmas this year.
There hasn't been any indication from local meteorologists about a white Christmas for Oklahoma this year. It's still too far out. But KFOR Chief Meteorologist Mike Morgan did recently hint on his official Facebook page that "something BIG is brewing" for Oklahoma the week of December 18-24.
