It's almost a week away till Easter, and Oklahoma is currently in a dry streak! But Oklahoma has the potential for rain and thunderstorms on Easter weekend. So, Oklahomans may want to have a contingency plan for those egg hunts.

KFOR Chief Meteorologist Mike Morgan indicated in his most recent 11 day forecast that Easter weekend is when Oklahoma could see it's next "decent chance" rain and storms. The weekend before Easter is expected to windy and warm before a a cold front moves in Sunday. Temperatures will drop down into the 60s on Monday before warming up again.

The good news though is that by Good Friday, Oklahoma could see cooler temperatures, back in the 60s, which will be perfect for egg hunts. But rain and storms could move in to Oklahoma starting Friday.

Oklahoma also has chances for rain the week before Easter.

According to the National Weather Service in Norman, the middle of the week next week has a low chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Areas of Oklahoma and north Texas could see rain Tuesday evening, Wednesday during the day and into the evening and Thursday during the day and night.

Although, the National Weather Service in Norman does expect the forecast to change, so Oklahomans, like always, are encouraged to remain weather aware! Hopefully too much rain won't dampen everyone's egg hunts!
