Spirit Halloween signs and posters have been popping up on abandoned buildings across Oklahoma over the past couple of weeks. And it has Oklahomans wondering when the seasonal Halloween decoration and costume stores will officially open. Last year, Spirit Halloween stores opened across the country on August 30, so this year's opening date may not be far behind.

Spirit Halloween typically opens its stores around the country after it has had the grand opening of its flagship store in New Jersey. Last year, the Spirit Halloween flagship store had its grand opening on August 1 and stores nationally opened later in the month on August 30.

Spirit Halloween will not have a grand opening in New Jersey this year.

Earlier this year, Spirit Halloween indicated that it would not be hosting a grand opening at its flagship store in Egg Harbor Township in New Jersey this year. In an Instagram post, Spirit Halloween stated that it wouldn't be hosting its famous grand opening due to "supply chain challenges." However, the company plans to bring the event back in 2026.

Spirit Halloween did, however, host a virtual grand opening on August 1 and gave a sneak peek of what the interior of Spirit Halloween stores will look like this year. And it looks like Halloween shoppers will still be able to get all their costumes and spooky decor all in one location.
