Said to be the largest Armed Forces Day parade in the nation, roughly 120 participants are set to march along with 1,000 Soldiers and Marines in the parade.  Bands, floats, military officials and veterans will unite in tribute to the men and women who have served our nation, past and present.  The parade will begin at the Lawton Central Mall and travel along C Avenue.  Participants will then head north on Fort Sill Boulevard and then west on Ferris Avenue ending at Elmer Thomas Park.

Fort Sill will have a static display of 16 Army vehicles in the park for families to enjoy.

Debra Burch, President and CEO of the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber says, "Our Armed Forces Day celebration continues to be a signature event for our community.  it is a wonderful opportunity for our citizens to pay tribute to the military, and because of the significant support the military provides for this event in terms of participation, it is an excellent chance for people to see just how impressive our local military presence is in terms of troops and equipment.  The Armed Forces Day celebration remains a major tourist attraction as several military reunion groups will travel to Lawton specifically to be a part of this outstanding celebration."

The Armed Forces Day Luncheon will be held on May 18th and will give guests and opportunity to share lunch at the Patriot Club on Fort Sill.  Guest speaker will be retired Lieutenant General Michael Maples.  Reservations are required by Wednesday, May 16 at 5pm to the Chamber either by email: receptionist@lawtonfortsillchamber.com or by phone 580-355-3541.
