MG Mark McDonald shared this and other items in this week's Fort Sill Update.  Other items featured in the update include:

  • Recognition of Retired Hereos

There are so many ways to get involved in the community, and to help honor the hereos that served both prior and after the 9/11 tragedy.  One is the I-Count campaign that seeks to count the homeless veterans and to gain more benefits for these soldiers, and also, the Heroes Remembered March that will be held on September 8, in Elgin.

  • 14th Annual Body versus Earth Triathlon

This event is also happening on Saturday, September 8 at LETRA, and includes a 500 meter swim, an 18 mile bike ride, and a 4 mile trail run.  The event is open to both teams and individuals with awards to both top male and female athelete.

  • Fort Sill Celebrates International Literacy Day

Children can visit the Nye Library from 1-3pm, and learn about different languages, cultures and customs.  There will be games, food samples and crafts.
