
These Valentine’s Day Bouquets Benefit the Homeless In Oklahoma City
Some people may not celebrate Valentine's Day, but last year, people were projected to spend $25.8 billion on Valentine's Day gifts and festivities. That's a lot of money for a one day holiday. So if you're wanting to celebrate Valentine's Day in Oklahoma but want your money to benefit people rather than corporations, consider purchasing your valentine an arrangement from Curbside Flowers where proceeds from sales support the homeless.
Curbside Flowers is now accepting pre-orders for Valentine's Day floral arrangements. This year's arrangements will be jungle-themed and range from small to extra large sizes, plant options are also available. All floral arrangements orders will be accepted online until Monday, Feb. 10. Proceeds from sales will go towards supporting employment and training opportunities for people transitioning out of homelessness in Oklahoma City.

The floral arrangements are put together by Curbside vendors.
Curbside Flowers is a branch of Oklahoma City's nonprofit publication Curbside Chronicle, which is a monthly magazine created for and sold by individuals experiencing homelessness. The publication provides "both a voice and employment opportunities for people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness."
Curbside Flowers is a full-service flower shop that provides another employment opportunity for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. All of the floral arrangements are made by Curbside vendors and the arrangements are made with fresh flowers and greenery.

During last year's Valentine's Day campaign, Curbside Flowers employed 44 people transitioning out of homelessness in Oklahoma City with over 1,662 hours of employment to make 1,875 bouquets. According to a Facebook post from Curbside Flowers last year, every flower arrangement represents more than just flowers, "each arrangement provides job training, economic empowerment, and self-confidence for our neighbors"
