The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has just approved the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. This makes the first COVID-19 vaccine that has been officially approved by the FDA. Prior to today the vaccine was approved by the FDA under EDA (Emergency Use Authorization) but wasn't fully approved. We've been hearing that the full approval was coming, but weren't sure exactly when that would be.

So now that the FDA has fully approved the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine does that change your thoughts on getting vaccinated? A lot of people were waiting for the FDA's approval before they got their vaccinations. No word yet on when the FDA could approve the Moderna or Johnson and Johnson vaccines, but it should be soon. With the FDA's approval health experts are hoping it will boost people's confidence.

The FDA is also reviewing the approval of COVID-19 vaccinations for children under 12. We may see both Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna approved by the FDA for younger age groups by as early as this Fall sometime. There's been a big increase in COVID-19 cases and Delta variant infections among kids and with school back in session it has health experts and parents worried.

Not only were people waiting for FDA approval, but businesses and other entities as well. Now that it's been approved more and more companies, schools, universities and government bodies from local, state to Federal agencies will require or mandate COVID-19 vaccinations. News broke a week or so ago that the U.S. Military would require vaccinations for all personnel and DOD (Department of Defense) employees. There are also several corporations and even local businesses requiring vaccinations for employees.

By now I'm sure you've seen, or maybe even experienced this for yourself. Not only are employers mandating vaccinations, just about everywhere you go they now ask for proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test before entry. A lot of venues and arenas are now requiring people to provide this, or they will be unable to gain entry. Even some restaurants and bars are now doing this. As time goes by the list will get longer.

If you're currently un-vaccinated it could become increasingly difficult to go places, travel or even hold a job depending on employers COVID-19 vaccination polices. Now that the FDA has approved the Pfizer Bio-NTech vaccine does that change how you feel about getting vaccinated? Does it remove some of the fear or anxiety you may have about getting the shot?
