Amazon Package Theft Ring in Oklahoma Gets Arrested

Earlier this month we heard the unfortunate news about a massive Amazon package theft ring in Oklahoma County. In late December, the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office collected up almost 600 Amazon packages that were opened, gone through, then the empty packaging dumped on the side of the road. The evidence was found in the area of 206th Street and Harrah Road. Sadly a lot of these packages were meant as Christmas gifts, but the Grinch or Grinches had other plans and stole them.

I feel bad for all the people who didn't get their gifts, especially the kids, but the story has a happy ending. The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office recently arrested 3 people who are suspected to be connected to the crime. The investigation lead to a warrant and search of a property that was only 1.5 miles away from where the empty packages were dumped. When they searched the home they found all kinds of evidence, including thousands of unopened packages some still on pallets throughout the property.

2 of the people who were arrested were third-party Amazon drivers or package delivery personnel. They had stolen property stacked in every room of the house and even in the storm shelter. Some were open, others still in the packaging. Needless to say, it's looking like the OCSO got those responsible for this crime. The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office did an amazing job investigating this and helping people get their missing packages. They've been working with both Amazon and USPS to assist victims and ensure those packages finally get to where they need to go. I'm sure that the whole process will take a while, but a late package beats no package at all. I'm just glad the Grinches didn't get away with trying to steal Christmas.
