My husband David knows I can't grow plants. I bring plants home and they scream when I walk in the door with them. I think it's like Little Shop of Horrors for them. It's sad but it's true. I have a brown thumb but I LOVE flowers. I try to find the variety that loves to be neglected like vinca, passion vine and morning glories.  Anyone can grow those, right?

Saturday night was a typical night at the Mace Place. Friends and neighbors were hanging out in the drive way talking about the latest news. I love it when friends come by and just stop for a beer, even when they're on their four wheelers. I try to keep the fridge in the barn stocked with ice cold beer (and soda just in case they bring their kids).

Well, after everyone left Saturday David said he was going out to the feed room. He was working on a 'project'. When I asked him what project he was working on he said "come out and take a look". There I saw 2 rotary hoe blades, some sheet metal and some sucker rod that he had scavenged from some of the many piles of metal we have laying around. I asked him what he was up to and he said he was going to weld some flowers for me. Now, how sweet is that? So as he was cutting and grinding and welding I was taking pictures.

Two hours from start to finish! I think he did a great job!

I just love them! I have seen them painted yellow with brown centers and green stems but I think I'm going to leave them just the way they are. What do you think? Rustic or painted?
